Blacksmiths - colored

Description

yay, i finally finished coloring this. well, i'm not fully satisfied though. this is my second time coloring using this technique so i'm still kind of experimenting. i hope this shows a big improvement in my skills.

the first one i colored was Sohee ([link]). The one that came after this is Safety Wall ([link]). I was starting to feel comfortable with coloring so I finished that kinda faster than this one.

i'm still at a loss with creating backgrounds. i'm not too good at drawing landscapes. so i just kind of dabbed some greenery there.

i'm still using thick lines to draw the line art for what came after this. but with the next one i'm doing (which is my Medusa sketch - check my gallery for it), i'm going to use more thinner and finer lines. i'll be posting a screenshot of the WIP a little later.

The background is fine. Blurry dabs of color focus attention on the foreground, where you want it to be. However, if you need more, I've written a tutorial on creating backgrounds from photographs [link] It's for the GIMP, but I understand Photoshop works much the same way.
